Paul 33, and Little Wing, 32, mix thrift and high design in their
Brooklyn pad

by Tina Chada

Married couple Paul and Little Wing (she’s named after a Jimi Hendrix song), are trying to come up with catchy phrases to describe their serene one-bedroom apartment. ”Modern but not minmal,” Paul says. “Found modern,” Little Wing chimes in, referring to her many scores from antique stores and the street, including three sofas in the living room. The modern part comes from the swirly blue magazine rack (above) and Watershed table and chairs (above and far left; they’re really meant for the outdoors—the chairs’ legs are designed for leaning forward so leaves and junk don’t get all over the seats when not in use) from 54Dean (www.54dean.com), the home design firm that Paul co-owns. But don’t credit their perfect looking place solely to the fact that both have design degrees—the two are always working on it. Paul and Little Wing constantly change their bedding and pillows “to give the room a different feel,” Little Wing says, and hang up new pictures or wrapping paper from Kate’s Paperie when they get bored of the old art. “Decorating never takes as long as you think—people just get lazy about it,” Paul says. Oh, we know all about that.
